Banana makes a wonderful luxury fiber that's produced from the stalks of the banana plant. It's white or off-white with a texture that's slightly stiffer than bamboo. And it's wonderful for spinning, blending, and can even take dyes. The production process begins by feeding the stalks into a machine much like a rolling mill; this crushes the stalks and breaks apart the individual fibers.
